Suspect charged with murder in Sierra LaMar case

[Statement from the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office]

Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Investigators have made an arrest this evening in connection with the Sierra LaMar disappearance. Antolin Garcia-Torres 21 years old, from Morgan Hill, was arrested this evening by Sheriff’s Investigators. Detectives believe Garcia-Torres is responsible for Sierra LaMar’s disappearance. Garcia-Torres was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail this evening on one count of Murder and one count of Kidnapping.

The Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office will be holding a press conference tomorrow morning, May 22nd, at 8:00am. The press conference will be held at Sheriff’s headquarters (1st floor auditorium), located at 55 W. Younger Avenue in San Jose.

The Sheriff’s Office will provide additional information at the press conference. We are asking that media please not contact Sierra LaMar’s relatives. They will be available at tomorrow’s press conference.
