Calhoun County, Alabama tornado emergency update

Calhoun County, ALABAMA (BNO NEWS) -- Calhoun County Sheriff Larry Amerson in Alabama tells BNO News there have been no confirmed reports of tornadoes after the National Weather Service issued a rare tornado emergency for the county. A tornado emergency was also issued for Cleburne County.

A tornado emergency, different from a tornado warning, is issued when a large and violent tornado is expected to impact a populated area.

Sheriff Amerson told BNO News there was wind damage reported but no tornado sightings have been confirmed. He said there were no reports of injuries so far.
