Travel Alert: Avoid D.C.'s Red Line after train collision

WASHINGTON, D.C. (BNO NEWS) -- D.C. Metro officials are advising that people avoid the Red Line for the remainder of the day after two six-car Red Line trains collided at around 5 p.m., killing at least 6 people and wounding more than 75.

Trains are operating between Glenmont and Silver Spring Metrorail stations and between Shady Grove and Rhode Island Avenue Metrorail stations for the remainder of the day.

Shuttle buses are operating between Silver Spring and Rhode Island Avenue Metrorail stations to help customers get around the incident.
