Michael Jackson's memorial to be held on Tuesday; tickets available soon

LOS ANGELES (BNO NEWS) -- Michael Jackson's public memorial will be held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Tuesday and tickets will soon be available, the star's PR firm said on Thursday evening.

Preliminary details of the public memorial service, which is to celebrate the life of Michael Jackson, will be announced during a 10 a.m. (local time) media briefing on Friday. The briefing will take place in Star Plaza at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, said Shawn Sachs, who is a spokesman for the PR firm.

"Tomorrow's media briefing will provide information on how the public will be given the opportunity to register for tickets to the memorial service at Staples Center," Shawn said. "There will be 11,000 tickets distributed to the general public. All tickets will be free of charge," he added.

The briefing will be held by AEG President and CEO Tim Leiweke.
